It was a Saturday evening when Nan, my officemate, decided to eat dinner at Eastwood Mall. We have decided to dine in My Thai because we have been eyeing that place for several weeks already. When we went there, the place was packed so left with no choice we went up to the second floor of Eastwood Mall (Veranda) looking for other options, we ended up at
Komrad (Mao's Hunan and Sichuan Kitchen).
As we enter the restaurant, the staff greeted us happily and since we wanted to sit on the sofas we opted to be on the corner. It was quite hot on that area because the air-condition unit was on the other side of the resto and we were on the corner where the kitchen wall was blocking. But I sis not mind since last night's weather was cold and breezy. Upon ordering, the manager (I think, coz she's wearing a button-down top compared to the staffs wearing a black top with red star in the middle of their shirts) asked us if we could transfer seats so they can accommodate a group of 6 waiting. We just said yes and I think I heard her whisper "We'll just give you complementary drinks". I wasn't really paying attention to it though and wasn't really expecting it is true but we were surprised they did send us free Red Iced Tea.

After 15 minutes of waiting our food came in.
Upon ordering the
KOMRAD Fried Rice, the manager told us that this is spicy and if we wanted it mild, we can, and so we did. Good thing we were advised because with the giant chilies on it, surely it'll be a killer! Komrad Fried Rice is a stir fried brown rice with soy sauce, peanuts, chilies, topped with spring onions and egg.

General Tso's Chicken is like your ordinary chicken fillet with a sweet sauce topped with spring onions and sesame seeds.

Sauteed Fried Eggplant with Pork Strips in Fish Sauce is not spicy also. I do not have to elaborate more on what this dish is because the name of it says it all. :)

In terms of service, I would give them a thumbs up for assisting us gracefully. All of them were smiling despite the number of guests last night.
